IT'S COLD SO I READ BLOGS, KNIT AND BAKE BREAD

HEE HEE HEE You have to be going through it to understand it but for those of you who are not you could substitute Premenstrual for Menopause. HEE HEE HEE

HMMM it sure smell good in my apt. I am making bread in my bread machine. It was my dad's and he loved toys. It got passed on to me. It is an original machine from over 20 years ago and still makes great bread. This machine makes the small size only and it takes four hours. It has a timer and a yeast dispenser. It doesn't have a glass window to watch it doing it's thing. This machine can also just make the dough which you can bake in the oven after shaping into rolls or pizza crust. I took it out about 10 days ago from the cupboard where it has been hibernating for a very long while. Now I remember why I put it in the cupboard. I love bread and especially home made bread or home made bread from a bread machine.
Are you sure you can't smell it. It is making my stomach gurgle in anticipation.
Here is one of the reasons I am baking bread. It is cold, grey, drab, dreary out, and raining. I am so cold. I need to go and make a cup of tea.
A view from my window today.
So what have I been doing?

Reading blogs and on Cathy's blog I found this:

NEW DIET
I was in Wal-Mart buying a large bag of Purina for my dog
and was in line to check out.
A woman behind me asked if I had a dog........
Duh! I was feeling a bit crabby so on impulse I told her no,
I was starting The Purina Diet again, although I probably shouldn't
because I'd ended up in the hospital last time,
but that I'd lost 50 pounds before I awakened in an intensive care unit
with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and I.V.'s in both arms.
Her eyes about bugged out of her head.
I went on and on with the bogus diet story and she was totally buying it.
I told her that it was an easy, inexpensive diet
and that the way it works is to load your pockets or purse with Purina nuggets
and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry.
The package said the food is nutritionally complete
so I was going to try it again.
I have to mention here that practically everyone in the line
was by now enthralled with my story,
particularly a tall guy behind her.
Horrified, she asked if something in the dog food had poisoned me
and was that why I ended up in the hospital.
I said no.....I'd been sitting in the street licking my butt
when a car hit me.
I thought the tall guy was going to have to be carried out the door.
Thank-you Cathy.

I also have been knitting. I have been doing lots and lots of knitting.
Here are some photos of my Mixed Jelly Bean Socks.
This first photo is of the cuff and legs. There really isn't much cuff. It is all in one. This next one is a close up showing the beads which seem to stay in the front of the sock where they belong. They move a bit so they are not in perfect alignment but that is okay.
This is the yarn that will be the foot of the sock to go with the cuff/leg.
The cuff/leg is King Cole DK white/cream with assorted beads I tried to match to the foot yarn I was going to use. It is supposed to be 60 rows with 30 having beads and 30 being plain. It seemed I didn't have enough yarn even though I purchased enough. It is six inches in length instead of seven but not having enough also means there will be none available for the foot. The foot is supposed to be done in stripes of the variegated and the plain and then a plain section just before the toe. I am going to see if there is any of the DK white/cream left at Ram's but if there isn't the sock just won't have the extra inch on the leg and the cream/white on the foot and the foot will be knit using only variegated Regia 6.They are very very easy to do. The most tedious part is putting the beads on the yarn. AND they are for MOI!!!

I am also working on my Fall Felted Bag Swap Bag exchange and that is about half completed. There are photos on my blog of it also.
I also have finished my dishcloth and food item for the love2knitdishcloth exchange but I can't put a photo of what I have made until after Oct 1 when we all open our packages. I don't want my partner to not be surprised.

Well I had expected to see the postman today but no such luck. BOO HOO!!!
My color swap partner for August has received her goodies and is pleased with them. Last week she told me in an email I should be getting my package very soon.
I also should be receiving my 3 month exchange from the addictedtoknitdishcloths shortly and I have mailed mine out also. She mailed hers on Friday and I mailed mine to her on Friday. I also mailed two birthday packages on Friday.

It wasn't a totally sad mail day as I did receive a card from my partner in Secret Pal 11. It is a postcard where you peel off the front and it becomes a sticker. The sticker is Mickey Mouse Ears. Thank-you Secret Pal whoever you are. I have sent my Secre Pal partner her first giftie. I hope she likes it.

Now reading through blogs I have found this: http://harvestsockswap.blogspot.com/.
1. You will pick out the yarn, pattern and a few goodies (can be fall, Halloween, or theme specific).
2. You will knit the first sock, then send that sock with the remainder of the yarn and the pattern, along with the goodies to your pal. You must try to have every thing to your pal no later than December 5.

It certainly sounds interesting. You knit only one sock and send it off with some goodies and wait to see what you get in return and then only have to knit one sock. I will consider this. I have until the end of the week as partners will be given soon after. Now should I join? Decisions Decisions Decisions.

Yesterday surprise surprise Solara sat on my lap for a very long time - over an hour and while she did that she shed all over me. She hasn't done that since she was a kitten. She doesn't fit on my lap like Sushi (my previous fur child) did as she is twice Sushi's size. The rest of the time Solara stayed on my bed since I had the mattress cover heater on. My apartment was cold yesterday too. She even slept with me for a while last night and early this morning something she doesn't seem to want to do very often. In fact, she spent most of today on my bed and is still there now.

AND here for those who are waiting some photos of my fur toddler.

Here she is playing on her favorite chair. When she was smaller she would play between the back of the chair and seat of the chair climbing through it in both directions. She certainly lets you know when there is something on it and she wants to use HER CHAIR. Here she is on the couch. She was acting rolling around when I managed to take this photo.
AND of course a close up.
Now I will go warm up my hands and knit some more.

I wanted to see what happened when I deleted a comment. I was just going to correct spelling. My hands were are so cold I spelled a word wrong. A bit of A personality. LOL Guess there is no way to edit and correct. Just delete and redo. Anyway this was my response WPGGAL.
